Enhancing supply chain resilience through ai-driven predictive modeling: insights from emerging economies' multi-industry pandemic recovery

This study investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance supply chain resilience in emerging markets using secondary data from 2019–2024. Analyzing pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and retail sectors across 12 developing countries, the study finds that organizations using AI-based forecasting and planning recovered 35% faster from pandemic-related disruptions than those using traditional methods. AI adoption was highest in the pharmaceutical sector, followed by manufacturing and retail. The research identifies government support, digital infrastructure, and workforce training as key factors for successful AI implementation and provides recommendations for businesses and policymakers to strengthen supply chain resilience.
