    Abstract
This study explored how taking a break from digital devices, commonly referred to as a "digital detox," affects the mental health and productivity of university students. In today's digital age, students rely on smartphones, laptops, and the internet for academic activities, communication, and entertainment. However, excessive use of digital devices can contribute to stress, sleep disturbances, and reduced attention span. To investigate this issue, the study adopted a qualitative research approach and conducted semi-structured interviews with students at a public university in Bangladesh. The findings indicate that many students experienced improved mental well-being, better sleep quality, and more effective time management after engaging in a digital detox. These results suggest that digital detox practices can help students achieve a healthier balance in their technology use while enhancing their overall well-being. The findings also provide valuable insights for educators, parents, and policymakers seeking to promote healthy digital media habits among university students.
