| dc.description.abstract | This study is based on survey data from 27 respondents, supplemented by international literature, to examine the impact of inadequate green spaces on the mental and physical health of residents in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The findings reveal that although many residents live within walking distance of parks, they often avoid using them due to poor maintenance, safety concerns, and inadequate facilities. As a result, recreational activities tend to shift to commercial venues or indoor environments, leading to reduced physical activity, increased stress, and poorer overall well-being. The study highlights a strong public demand for accessible, safe, and well-maintained green infrastructure. It concludes by recommending the integration of more green spaces into Dhaka’s urban planning to improve public health, enhance quality of life, and promote a more livable city. | en_US |
