An Undergraduate Internship/Project on Clippers

Abstract

Clippers is a mobile application designed to address the main problem of long waiting times for haircuts. The app offers a comprehensive solution for a swift and hassle-free haircut experience by leveraging technology to minimize wait times. Users can conveniently locate nearby barber shops through the integration of Google Maps API, and the app provides real-time information on wait times and queue sizes, allowing customers to plan their visits more efficiently. Additionally, Clippers enables users to access ratings and reviews of barbershops, empowering them to make informed decisions about where to get their haircuts. The project aims to enhance customer satisfaction while creating opportunities for local barbershops to flourish alongside their competitors. Key objectives include user registration, displaying nearby barbershops, providing wait time and queue size information, facilitating ratings and reviews, enabling appointment bookings and online payments, and allowing shop owners to update services and wait times. By addressing the main problem of long wait times, Clippers simplifies the haircut process, saves users' valuable time, and improves the overall customer experience.
