STUDY ON RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PROCEDURE OF ENGINEERS IN NETWORK DEPARTMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF GRAMEENPHONE LTD.
Abstract
Grameen Phone Ltd. (GP) is the largest leading telecom industry in Bangladesh. GP is the pioneer to bring in modern telecommunication technology. To hold the position of market leadership, GP has to always think about the innovation and effective work processes, and for this they need employees who can perform well and they have the tendency to take initiatives to face the challenges. To find out the effective employee, Recruitment and Selection play a vital role because a wrong selection of an employee may cause a great suffer to an organization. It is clearly stated that a better recruitment and selection strategy can help an organization to gain the sustainability and to perform better than others, because human resources are the main capitals who are responsible to run the business. To conducting this study, a questionnaire was prepared and based on that questionnaire a survey was conducted on Grameenphone networking department to find out the actual scenario of GPs selection and recruitment process. This study tries to find out the factors on which Grameenphone gives more priority when they recruit a new employee in the Network department. Some major factors like work experience, educational achievement, higher studies, skills like communication or interpersonal skills or basic knowledge, reputation of the academic institution, required academic qualification that influence employee recruitment. As Grameen Phone is an established multinational company in Bangladesh and practicing the standard business conduct. So no vital chances are required in their recruitment and selection strategy. But the analysis will also help to suggest the organization a better way to recruit the best candidates effectively from the job market.
