    Abstract
    The thesis report explores diverse research initiatives aimed at enhancing Software Engineering Practices for Early-Stage Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Focusing on innovation, competition, requirements management, and testing processes, it examines their impact on SMEs. The studies delve into understanding innovation’s relationship with competition, proposing policy recommendations to boost innovation. Additionally, a hybrid approach is introduced to improve client involvement in software requirements, aiming for more successful project outcomes. Furthermore, the report addresses enhancing software testing services for SMEs, offering practical frameworks to elevate companies’ maturity levels. Overall, these research endeavors aim to equip SMEs with adaptable strategies crucial for their successful software development initiatives while emphasizing their impact on business operations.
