dc.description.abstract | The project focuses on enhancing the Integrated Registrar Office Automation System (iRAS) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) to address existing challenges and improve its overall efficiency. In response to the dynamic technological landscape, the web-based application has significantly streamlined administrative tasks such as student admissions, course registrations, faculty evaluations, and graduation processes. However, despite its advantages, iRAS faces challenges, particularly in the manual paperwork involved in certain tasks, dissatisfactions during the course registration period, and inconsistencies in course allocations. This project aims to identify, analyze, and redesign iRAS to provide end-users with an improved user interface and introduce new features, such as online payment options, enhanced admission processes, and comprehensive profiles for students and faculty members. The scope encompasses the development of a revised version of iRAS, implementing a client-server-based web application, providing guidance on the new system, reducing manual paperwork, and realizing time and cost savings. The objectives include creating a robust system with an enhanced UI, restructuring the backend code, transitioning to REST API services, implementing profile-based admission systems, developing a management dashboard, enhancing registration and payment processes, strengthening security and privacy measures, and improving course and faculty management. Ultimately, the project seeks to create a more efficient and user-friendly iRAS aligned with the evolving needs of IUB, fostering a seamless transition to a computerized system and minimizing manual paperwork. | en_US |
