dc.description.abstract | This study examines the impact of board size and independent directors on the performance of Shahjalal Islami Bank ltd. An individual regression model is used to examine this relationship over the years 2006-2010. The results showed a statistically significant relation between the banks’ board size and their performances. In addition, the proportion of independent directors on the board should be positively related to bank’s performance in the Shahjalal Islami Bank.
