Since Professor Amiya Kumar Bagchi’s above mentioned book has been wonderfully written, We could, not help checking our desire to review it once again although several expert scholars (such as Tussie, 1983; Bvres, 1984: Herring, 1985 and Jain. 1999) of different countries had earlier reviewed it. Another ground of reviewing Ihis book after so many years of its publication in 1982 is that even today.-’^e-Tnain theme of Professor Bagchi’s work very much exists in [he econotliih infrastructures of the Bangladesh economy. A lot of wealth is now in the hands of a tiny minority while ah overwhelming majority of our population is suffering from exploitation, deprivation and poverty. Marginal farmers and wage earners are very many. Furthermore, we have heeh observing carefully that the disparity between the rich and the poor in Bangladesh has significantly escalated within the last decade. The upper classes have been conspicuously building their wealth, while most of the poor are not even able to feed themselves because of continuing price hike of essentials, to our profound regret. Hence, this review of Bagchi’s book even after several reviews by several scholars in the past.
Dr. Amiya Kumar Bagchi, a renowned Indian Professor, is an eminent economist of the modern Cambridge tradition. Professor Bagchi’s book which anchored its economic analysis based on the admission that society was divided into three classes: landlords, capitalists and wage earners is part of a growing current attempting to revive the traditions of political economy of underdevelopment along Marxist-Leninist axis.

Akbar, Mohammad Muzahid
A conceptual model or framework has been employed la investigate the impact of few explanatory variables like communication effectiveness, service quality (which has two comprising dimensions called technical quality and functional quality!, and trust on relationship commitment in the context of two groups of subscribers of a major private telecommunication company of Bangladesh. Structural equation modeling was used to test the model on five sets of data collected from 629 pre-paid and 538 post-paid subscribers to know how subscribers’ relationship commitment vary in two groups. According to the results, most of the hypothesized relationships are supported and the model is found to have perfect fit to the data collected from post-paid subscribers, Communication effectiveness is found to be the most powerful antecedent of relationship Commitment in both groups. A clear understanding of the antecedents of relationship commitment might encourage the service providerfsi to take necessary measures to foster subscribers’ relationship) commitment,

Gani, Mohammad
Market clearing is the central issue in macroeconomics, Tm centuries of debate on Say's law indicates that the issue is not yet settled. This essay proposes that double coincidence is a necessary condition for market clearing, in addition to the^qualih’ of demand and supply at equilibrium prices. However, -the literature doesi Uot recognize, necessity' of double coincidence. jevans (1875j gave shape to the conventional wisdom on double coincidence. The idea is that it is peculiar to barter, and that money overcomes this inconvenience. This is a fallacy. It prevents the development of a theory of money cis a necessary medium of indirect exchange. It hides the rule of money in market clearing. By recognizing double coincidence as a necessary condition for any trade, and the role tiff- money in market clearing, economics am became a much stronger and practically mere useful science. Monetary reform can correct the perverse circulation of money and prevent involuntary unemployment, undue instability, and.excess debt.

Kazmi, Azhar
The essence of strategic success lies in effectiveness of strategy implementation rather than the sophistication of strategy formulation. This paper reviews existing models or frameworks of strategy implementation, comments on the impediments to strategy implementation, and derives the themes of strategy implementation. Suggestions to remove the impediments to strategy implementation are: adopting a dear model of strategy implementation, effective management of change in complex situations, and setting down clear measures of effectiveness. These three suggestions are utilized to build up the three themes of strategy implementation: activating strategies, managing change, and achieving effectiveness to construct a model of strategy implementation. The proposed model has sets of activities such as project and procedural implementation that could find more academic and practical relevance to strategic management in developing economies.
