An Undergraduate Internship/Project on Single Vendor Ecommerce Website
Abstract
I have summarized the knowledge and experiences I received while working as an intern at Global Professional IT (GPIT) in this project. We are embarking on the development of a web application, specifically a single vendor e-commerce platform. This platform aims to provide a seamless experience for customers to explore products and place orders via a web-based system. The central features should allow customers to browse available items, select what they desire, and proceed to place orders from the vendor. Payment option will initially be cash on delivery, with plans to integrate online payment gateways in future updates for added convenience and efficiency. In the realm of administration, there will be several crucial functionalities. Administrators will possess the authority to manage orders, approving or disapproving them as necessary. They will also be able to oversee and update various aspects of the product database, encompassing brands, categories, pricing, and product variants. Moreover, administrators will hold the power to customize website settings, shaping the user experience and influencing how customers interact with the website. For general users or customers, the focus will be on providing an intuitive interface for a smooth journey. Users have the ability to register on the platform, browse items, brands, and categories effortlessly. They should be able to seamlessly add or remove items from their shopping cart as they navigate through the platform. Once satisfied with their selections, customers can proceed to place their orders.
